Detects: Hepatitis-B immunity.
The hepatitis B antibody test is primarily used to show immunity to the virus. The vaccine is readily available, and after completing the rounds of shots it is encouraged to take the antibody test to verify immunity. Antibodies will develop quickly after receiving the vaccine, and the test should be taken within 1-2 months of the last shot. Men who have sex with men, healthcare workers, MMA fighters, and other high-risk individuals are encouraged to seek the vaccine for Hepatitis-B.
