Drugs and drug classification:

Test arrangements and appointments:

Appointments are not required. Orders for the 60–day hair follicle drug screen collections may require specific test arrangements. Same–day collections are potentially possible, although we may need to mail out lab orders, and we therefore highly encourage you to contact customer service and provide us with advance notice as soon as possible. 

Result turnaround time:

Expect your results to take anywhere from 1 to 7 business days; however, they usually take an average of 3 to 5 business days, sometimes taking 1 or 2 extra business days. 

Specimen:

To ensure our lab has collected  enough hair, we suggest collecting 3 times the normal amount of hair (normal is 90 to 120 strands of head hair)  that is also at least 1 inch long, body hair drug testing is not an option for the 60 day hair follicle drug test.

Methodology:

EIA (homogenous) or Elisa (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) (heterogeneous)  screening technology, GCMS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) confirmation technology of non-negative presumptive positives.

Clinical applications:

The 60–day hair follicle drug screen provides extended detection time when compared to drug testing by urine, blood, and oral swab. This is useful when a hair test is required. However, if the specimen donor has very short head hair and no body hair, this has been found to be useful when hair tests are required but they do not have to go back the standard 90 days, allows for observed hair collection when adulteration of urine sample is suspected, used to clarify confusing or conflicting pre-employment, pain management and probation urine drug test results, court ordered hair drug testing, hair drug testing for child custody and divorce, personal and private testing via laboratory collection or private at-home self collection, testing for child or loved one, post rehab testing, difficult or impossible to adulterant. (*For child custody and child protective services scenarios consider 5 panel hair drug test environmental exposure, childguard) 

LIMITATIONS general:

Allow anywhere from 5 to 10 days after expected estimated drug use to show up in the drug screening.
