Requires 90 to 120 strands of head hair that is also 1 ½ inches to 2 inches in head hair length equalling 100 mg. Body hair drug testing options include underarm hair, chest hair, leg hair, facial hair, forearm hair, back hair, and sometimes pubic hair, however, body hair collections may not be a likely option for young children.

A standard 7 panel plus expanded opiates hair drug test environmental exposure, ChildGuard has a detection time of an estimated 90 days from potential usage, environmental exposure can begin showing in the hair right away, extended detection times are not available for this test. Limitations general:
Provides detection in cases of: passive exposure and inhalation of the smoke of drugs, when child is exposed to the sweat or skin oil of someone using drugs, direct contact with drug, and accidental ingestion of a drug. Test can detect exposure right away, no need to wait the 5 to 10 days it may take to show in standard hair tests
