How quickly can I get my employee tested? In order to get your employees tested, you need a lab order. With one quick phone call, we can get you registered and send you an immediate lab order. We have thousands of locations in our network, and most do not require an appointment. This means you can get them tested right away the same day you call!
How quicky can I get test results? If you are looking for a urine drug test for your employee, we have two options. In most areas of the country, we can provide instant drug test results. You may also choose from a wide range of lab-based drug test panels usually taking 1 to 3 days to complete.
How do I know what to test for? If you are not sure what drugs you should include in your employee drug test, don’t worry. We can talk you through that in just a few minutes. Most employers choose a 5-panel urine drug screen or a 10-panel. Some of our employer accounts choose a customized panel based on the industry they are in. For example, the healthcare and veterinarian industry might choose a more customized drug test panel to cover commonly abused prescriptions. Some employers are now moving towards eliminating testing for marijuana. Call customer service for more information.
How do I order a test? It only takes a few minutes to set up a company profile for you. Once we have your account set up, we can issue an immediate lab order so your employee is able to go in right away! To complete your order we will need the employee’s name, date of birth (if you have it), and zip code. We will also need to run a credit card payment to release your lab order.
How do I request bulk drug testing? Whether you need one test or one hundred, we can get the lab orders emailed to you immediately. Many of our high-volume accounts choose to use our customized e-manager employee tracker. While our employee tracker is optional, most of our accounts really prefer it. It is extremely simple to use, there is no software to download and no learning curve. If you can use a spreadsheet, you can use our employee tracker right away! How do I find a location to get my employee drug tested? We have 5 different lab networks to choose from and thousands of locations across the country, so we almost always have something close. You may have seen our fin-a-location search option. While you can use this to see what is close, please remember that not every location listed can provide drug screen collections. Also, please realize the local site will require a lab order so please do not send your employee in without calling first for the lab order.
Should I ask my employee for their prescriptions? Please consider that your employees most likely consider their prescriptions to be a private matter and therefore might not feel comfortable discussing them with their employer. Consider the potential complications that could arise in regards to discrimination or termination of an employee with whom you have recently discussed their medications. All drug testing through AMH includes any necessary confirmation testing and medical review of needed prescriptions. This is included in our process and our price. Our Medical Review Office is specially trained to look at prescriptions and determine whether they are causing the positive. When needed we will talk with your employee and further confirm the presence of that prescription.
What if my employee tests positive for an illegal substance? This is a common concern with employers. You may be wondering if this is a situation that has to be reported to a local authority or agency. It does not. However, depending on the substance they test positive for, you should carefully consider your next steps. If you are in a safety sensitive industry or if that employee has access to sensitive information, such as you or your clients’ credit card information, you could be taking a big risk by continuing their employment. If this is an employee that you value, you could consider helping them with their possible addiction while also requiring some sort of random urine or hair testing.
