Question: I have been court ordered to take a 16 panel nail test within 24 hours of notification. I have been growing my nails but I am required to take the test today. According to your website I do not think that I have long enough nails but will I violate the order if I do not take the test?
Answer: It is not uncommon to get a court order requiring an immediate nail sample collection, often within 24-48 hours. The court most likely does not realize that you must have enough sample to give. Also, let’s remember a 16 panel nail test requires more sample than the more basic nail tests. Don’t worry, this is not the first time dealing with this and we know the best way to handle it. First, let’s show that you have taken steps to get your test completed. That means calling and getting registered. We can send you the lab orders stating the nail test requirements but also specifically requesting that you do not give your sample until you have enough sample to give. If you do not give enough sample, the lab will run out and you will get an incomplete test result. In addition, if need be, we can send the lab orders out and send you to the collection site but direct them to observe your current nail quantity and state that you do not have enough and request you return to give the sample in a few days or so! You could also consider taking a 16 panel hair drug test.
