Test arrangements and appointments:

No appointment needed; same-day lab orders usually available; orders for hair drug and alcohol tests may require special test arrangements. Same-day collections may be possible, but more often than not we may have to mail out lab orders, and we therefore strongly suggest calling customer service and giving advance notice as soon as you can.

Result turnaround time:

Please remember result times for an ETG hair follicle test are an ESTIMATE and never a guarantee. Results for an alcohol hair test normally take an ESTIMATED one to seven business days but averages three to five business days.

Specimen:

The hair alcohol test requires 90 to 120 strands of head hair that is also 1 ½ inches to 2 inches in length. Body hair collection options include underarm hair, chest hair, leg hair, facial hair, forearm hair, back hair, and sometimes pubic hair. It is not uncommon for us to get requests for a hair test for drugs and alcohol. These are actually two hair tests. If you need both, you will need an additional 90 to 120 strands for all hair panels below the 10-panel hair drug test. Larger panels, such as 12 panel hair follicle test, require about double the sample amount (double 90 to 120 strands of head hair that is also 1 ½ inches to 2 inches in length or body hair.) In some cases, if you do not have a lot of hair and you need a hair alcohol test plus one of our largest panels, such as the 17 panel, we may want to discuss your head and body hair situation and request that the lab collect one body hair and one head hair collection. Detection time:

The hair drug and alcohol tests have a detection time of an estimated 90 days from potential usage. For extended detection times you might consider a body hair collection; please call customer service for more details.

Limitations general:

The ETG hair follicle test takes roughly 5 to 10 days for drug use to show in a hair sample.
