Test arrangements and appointments:

There is no appointment needed for a same–day lab order and specimen collection. They are available but in rare cases, lab orders for the 12-panel hair test may require special test arrangements. Same day collections may be possible but sometimes we have to mail out the lab orders so therefore we strongly suggest calling customer service as soon as possible.

Turnaround time for results: 

Typical turnaround times range between 1 and 10 business days but on average range anywhere from 5 to 7 business days. Understand that the result times are an estimate and never guaranteed. 

Specimen:

The 12-panel hair follicle test requires 90 to 120 strands of head hair that is also 1 ½ inches to 2 inches in length, Body hair collection options include underarm hair, chest hair, leg hair, facial hair, forearm hair, back hair, and sometimes pubic hair. (If head hair is too short see 30 day hair follicle drug test (17 panel) or 60 day hair follicle drug test (17 panel) or fingernail drug test.)

Detection time:

The hair follicle drug test 12–panel lab order has a detection time of an estimated 90 days from potential usage. Extended detection times are NOT available for this test. However, you may consider a 13 panel or 17 panel in 90–day increments such as 6-month hair follicle drug test, 9 month hair follicle drug test, 1 year hair follicle drug test and so forth. (Please note: keep in mind that you must have hair long enough on your scalp to cover the desired time frame, please call customer service for further details.)

Clinical applications:

90 day (3 month hair test) extended detection times when compared to drug testing by urine, blood, and oral swab, allows for observed hair collection when adulteration of urine sample is suspected. The 12-panel hair follicle test is used to clarify confusing or conflicting results for pre-employment, pain management and probation urine drug test results, court ordered hair drug testing, hair drug testing for child custody and divorce cases, testing for child or loved one, post rehab testing, difficult or impossible to adulterate. Limitations general:

It takes an estimated 5 to 10 days before results show up in the drug screening.
